Sausage and Rice Casserole with Maple

Ingredients
  • 8 mild Italian sausages
  • 1 packet of onion soup
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) maple syrup
  • 500 ml (2 cups) long-grain rice
  • 625 ml (2 1/2 cups) water
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method
  1. Sauté sausages in oil for 2 minutes over high heat. Add onion soup mix, maple syrup and rice, and stir well.
  2. Add water. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  3. Cover and cook for 20 minutes over a very low heat.
