Recipe — Maple Brie Melt
6 portions
Metric Imperial

Ingredients

  • 1 round loaf
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 Brie cheese
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200 °C (400 °F).
  2. Slice off the top third of the round loaf. Set aside.
  3. Hollow out the loaf to one and a half times the size of the wheel of brie. Inside, put dried cranberries, the wheel of brie, maple syrup and chopped fresh rosemary.
  4. Replace the top crust round, then wrap the entire loaf in aluminum foil and bake for 50 minutes.

Bring your bread with you. Prepare your melt, but resist the temptation to put it in the oven. Instead, wrap it first in aluminum foil, then in a pretty checkered cloth and offer it as a hostess gift. She will be the one melting with delight!

More about Maple

Maple syrup comes in four classifications, according to colour and taste.

At the start of sugaring season, syrup is generally clear, with a lightly sweet taste. It becomes darker and caramelized as the season goes on.

An unopened can of maple syrup keeps for many years.

Once the can is opened, syrup should be kept in an airtight container in a cool place.

100% pure maple butter contains no butter or dairy.

Like all 100% pure maple products, maple butter comes from the sap of the maple tree… and that’s all.
