Apple-Maple Energy Jujubes


Ingredients
  • Vegetable oil
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) apple juice 
  • 60 ml 1/4 cup) maple syrup
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 packets neutral gelatin

Method

* For best results, use the stovetop method.

Stovetop

  1. Lightly oil silicone ice cube trays. 
  2. Put all liquid ingredients in a small saucepan, sprinkle gelatin on the surface, and let stand 5 minutes.
  3. Heat the saucepan over low heat while stirring constantly, until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  4. Stir well and pour into the molds. Refrigerate 30 minutes.

 

Microwave

  1. Lightly oil silicone ice cube trays. 
  2. Put the apple juice in a microwavable bowl, sprinkle the gelatin on the surface, and let stand 5 minutes. 
  3. Heat the bowl at power level 60 in the microwave for 30 seconds. If the mixture is not quite liquid, return it to the microwave for another 10 to 15 seconds. 
  4. Stir in the maple syrup and lemon juice, stir the mixture well and pour into the molds. Refrigerate 30 minutes.
